Our Cherry Blossom Trees and Achilles USA's Roots

Every spring, the cherry blossom trees lining the main road into our Everett facility transform a familiar drive into something worth slowing down for. When the facility was built in 1974, over fifty cherry trees were planted along that stretch as a thoughtful nod to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest and our Japanese heritage, where sakura symbolize renewal and the fleeting beauty of life.

As a company with deep roots in Japan, we see these trees as more than just landscaping. They serve as a living bridge between our Everett home and the traditions that shaped Achilles, greeting employees and visitors each spring as a gentle reminder of our origins.

The timing is especially meaningful because our trees reach full bloom in late April, coinciding with Earth Week. This is when regional discussions about environmental responsibility peak, and our team typically comes together for a Campus Cleanup to celebrate Earth Week. This overlap is not a coincidence. The delicate blossoms, which last only a couple of weeks, remind us of the progress we are making in sustainability, the new initiatives we are launching, and how we can better support customers committed to environmental performance across their supply chains.
The view outside our windows reflects the Pacific Northwest, a region we are proud to be part of, our connection with our Japanese roots, and the future we are dedicated to building. If you're ever in Everett, don’t forget to drive by during April to see the beauty of our cherry trees. If you're far away, we invite you to watch a small video about them:
