Custom PVC Film for Graphics and Face Stock Applications
Achilles USA originated ‘static cling vinyl’ in 1974. Our Static Cling films still set the standard for cling vinyl today with the highest quality and most diverse product offerings.

We have invested significantly in our ability to offer vinyl and olefin films for the expanding and constantly changing self-adhesive graphics industry. Our films are custom engineered to your individual requirements/specifications to ensure great adhesive compatibility and long-lasting print protection.
What types of graphics applications use PVC film?
PVC graphics film is used for static cling window graphics, PSA face stock, labels and stickers, and protective overlaminates. Achilles USA produces all four product types in custom formulations, with options ranging from monomeric grades for short-term indoor graphics to polymeric grades built for long-term outdoor and vehicle wrap applications.

Regulatory Compliances
REACH / SVHC
The European Union's REACH regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) restricts the use of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) in products sold within the EU. Achilles USA can formulate PVC graphics films to meet REACH SVHC requirements, making them suitable for converters and brand owners supplying European markets.
PROP 65 (California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act)
California's Proposition 65 requires businesses to warn consumers before knowingly exposing them to chemicals listed as known carcinogens or reproductive toxins. Achilles USA PVC graphics films are available in formulations that meet PROP 65 requirements, including non-phthalate versions for applications subject to phthalate restrictions.
RoHS
RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) limits the use of specific hazardous materials in electrical and electronic equipment sold in the EU. Our films formulated to RoHS standards are suited for converter applications where end-use products fall under electronics labeling or component marking.
CPSIA
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) sets strict limits on lead content and phthalates in products designed for children. Achilles USA can supply graphics films with CPSIA compliance documentation for face stock or laminate applications in children's products, educational materials, and consumer goods.
CONEG
CONEG (Coalition of Northeastern Governors) restricts the intentional introduction of heavy metals, including lead, cadmium, mercury, and hexavalent chromium, into packaging materials. Our compliant formulations meet CONEG standards for brands and printers whose graphics products are used in regulated packaging applications.
Non-Phthalate Formulations
For applications where phthalate-free materials are required by customer specification, end-use regulation, or retailer compliance programs, Achilles USA offers non-phthalate PVC film formulations across our graphics and face stock product lines. This applies to both monomeric and polymeric grades.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the difference between monomeric and polymeric PVC film for graphics?
Monomeric PVC film uses single-chain plasticizers, which makes it a more economical option suited for indoor signage, short-term point-of-sale displays, and outdoor graphics with a lifespan of up to one year. It is slightly stiffer and can shrink over time in demanding outdoor conditions. Polymeric PVC film uses longer plasticizer chains, giving it greater dimensional stability, superior outdoor durability, and a lifespan of five to seven or more years, making it the standard choice for vehicle wraps and long-term outdoor applications. Achilles USA also offers a monomeric/polymeric blend for medium-term outdoor graphics, bridging the gap between cost and performance for applications like retail window graphics and fleet markings.

What high-tack self-adhesive vinyl?
High-tack self-adhesive vinyl is a PVC facestock film with an aggressive adhesive that bonds permanently to difficult surfaces. Where standard vinyl struggles, high-tack holds, including low-surface-energy (LSE) materials like polyethylene, polypropylene, powder-coated metals, rough walls, and sports equipment. It's built for demanding indoor and outdoor applications: floor graphics, vehicle wraps, outdoor signage, and OEM equipment labels. Once applied, it's not meant to be removed or repositioned. The tradeoff for that strong, lasting bond is that it may leave adhesive residue if pulled off. If the surface is tricky and the graphic needs to stay put, high-tack is the right spec.

Does Achilles USA offer REACH and Prop 65-compliant graphics films?
Yes. Achilles USA offers PVC graphics films formulations with regulatory compliance documentation, including REACH/SVHC, PROP 65, CPSIA, CONEG, and RoHS. Our Quality lab is equipped to measure, quantify, and certify materials per ASTM and Federal test methods, and we can provide compliance documentation that matches your internal supply chain requirements. A non-phthalate version of our monomeric+UV overlaminate formulation is also available for applications subject to phthalate restrictions.
-
Can I get a custom formulation for a specific adhesive or ink system?
Yes. Achilles USA functions as a true OEM plastic film manufacturer, meaning every film we produce is built to your specification. Our engineering team has extensive knowledge and experience in plasticizers to engineer adhesive-compatible face stocks for short-term, long-term, and repositionable PSA systems. On the print side, our graphics films are compatible with all major ink types and printing methods, including digital, litho, UV-cure, screen, and gravure. If you have a specific converter or ink system requirement, our team can formulate a solution to match your exact substrate needs.
